RWANDAN COMMUNITY IN POLAND CELEBRATES NATIONAL HEROES’ DAY 2026
On 1 February 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda to Poland, in collaboration with the Rwandan Community Association in Poland (RCA-Poland), commemorated National Heroes’ Day 2026 in Warsaw under the theme “Heroism and Unity for Rwanda’s Development.”
Participants reflected on the heroic values that define Rwanda and engaged in discussions on the importance of commemorating national heroes. The exchanges further highlighted how members of the Rwandan community in Poland can continue to serve their country through acts of patriotism and responsibility, even while living abroad.
Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Poland, Prof. Anastase SHYAKA, who was the Guest of Honour, emphasized the central role of unity in Rwanda’s development and prosperity. He also underscored the importance of intergenerational responsibility, particularly the duty of the younger generation to preserve and carry forward Rwanda’s heroic legacy.
The celebration additionally provided an opportunity for members of the Rwandan community in Poland to reconnect through a friendly basketball match and a social cocktail, reinforcing unity and solidarity among participants.
