On 8 August 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Poland, in collaboration with the Rwandan Community Abroad (RCA) – Poland, organized and celebrated Umuganura 2026 in Poznań, Poland. Held under the theme “Umuganura, Isoko y’Ubumwe no Kwigira”, the celebration took place at the Novotel Poznań Centrum.

In his keynote address, Ambassador Prof. Anastase Shyaka, who was the Guest of Honour, commended members of the Rwandan community in Poland for their continued growth and contribution across various fields. He particularly highlighted innovative solutions developed by members of the community to address challenges facing Rwanda, including DomLift, a real estate management platform, and Gerayo, a public transport management solution. He noted that such initiatives embody the spirit and purpose of Umuganura.

Ambassador also used the occasion to bid farewell to the Rwandan community in Poland. He encouraged members to continue upholding Rwandan values, as well as strengthening unity, solidarity, and their contribution to Rwanda’s development.

The celebration began with friendly football matches and concluded with the awarding of the best-performing teams, followed by a cocktail reception.
