RCA POLAND RECONNECTED WITH THEIR MOTHERLAND DURING THE END-OF-YEAR CULTURAL HERITAGE VISIT
On 20 and 22 December 2025, members of the Rwandan Community in Poland (RCA Poland) undertook a visit to their motherland under an initiative entitled the End-of-Year Cultural Heritage Visit, aimed at reconnecting with Rwanda’s history, values, and cultural heritage.
Organized by Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, the programme commenced on Saturday, 20 December 2025, with a visit in Gicumbi District to the Rwanda Liberation Museum and Rubaya RPF General Headquarters. Participants were taken through Rwanda’s liberation struggle and gained deeper insights into the country’s journey towards peace and unity.
On Monday, 22 December 2025, the delegation visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi, where they were briefed on how divisive and discriminatory politics led to the extermination of more than one million Tutsi during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The visit was followed by a tour of the Campaign against Genocide Museum at the Rwandan Parliament, where further explanations were provided on how the genocide was stopped and the efforts that laid the foundations of Rwanda’s post-genocide reconstruction.
Across all the visited sites, emphasis was placed on the critical role of youth in shaping the present and future of the nation, highlighting their responsibility in safeguarding unity, resilience, and sustainable development.
