Meeting of the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology with the Ambassador of Rwanda
The meeting concerned the extension of cooperation in the field of education. - I would like to thank the Rector for today's meeting. Recently, Rwanda has opened its embassy in Poland and I am glad that today I came to Gliwice to talk about cooperation with the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology and at the same time the chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. In Rwanda, we appreciate education very much and in Poland it is at a high level, so we want as many young Rwandans as possible to study here - said Professor Anastase Shyaka.

During the meeting, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk presented our University, its advantages and the fields of study it offers.
- I am very glad that this visit came to fruition. There are several students from Rwanda at our University, we also have a doctoral student from this country, therefore we are very keen on expanding our cooperation. The Silesian University of Technology is recognised worldwide. We have many students from abroad, also from Africa. I think it's because our University has a very rich offer of education in English - said Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk.
Apart from the rich offer of studies, another advantage of the Silesian University of Technology is the fact that it is located in the Upper Silesian Agglomeration.
- We also develop many research areas at the University. Moreover, in October the European HealthTech Innovation Centre was opened in Zabrze, which is a unique place on a national scale. The Silesian University of Technology also has its own training centre for pilots and aviation mechanics. At the airport in Gliwice, there is the Civil Aviation Personnel Education Centre of Central and Eastern Europe of the Silesian University of Technology - said Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk.

After talks with the University authorities, the Ambassador of Rwanda, Professor Anastase Shyaka, met with students from his country.
Among them was Carine Yogere Mugisha from Kigali, who is studying Logistics at our University. - I chose the Silesian University of Technology because I believe that it is the best university in Poland. I like Silesia very much, but I have also visited many cities outside of it. I have already been to Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań and Kraków - says Carine Yogere Mugisha.
A doctoral student from Rwanda at the Institute of Physics, Jean Baptiste Baranyika, was also present at the meeting with the Ambassador. - I chose the Silesian University of Technology because the project I am interested in can only be carried out at this University- emphasizes Jean Baptiste Baranyika.
Young Rwandans study at many faculties at the Silesian University of Technology, including Chemistry, Management and Production Engineering, Logistics or Biomedical Engineering.
