From January 1, 2018, citizens of all countries receive visas upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and at all land borders.

Citizens of all non-visa-exempt countries also have the option to apply online or at the Rwandan diplomatic missions in their country of residence prior to departure.

Online applicants have the option to pay online or upon arrival. There is no single affiliated agent who is authorized to apply for a visa on your behalf. These agents may mislead you and charge you more than the required visa fees.

Visa fees cannot exceed USD 50 for a single entry visa or USD 70 for a multiple entry visa.

The application for a visa extension is submitted to the offices of the Directorate-General for Immigration and Emigration. Detailed requirements are set out in the Information for Applicants for each class.

Visa extensions must be applied for as long as the original visas remain valid.
